Interview with Casey Markee
by Reese Oxner
I recently talked with Casey Markee from Media Wyse about his upcoming session at the State of Search digital marketing conference in Dallas. He gave me a preview of what he will discuss.
What will you be speaking about at the State of Search this year?
WordPress SEO best practices and tips in a post-Gutenberg world.
What are the key takeaways that you’d like the audience to get when they come to your session?
WordPress SEO is more than installing a plugin and calling it a day. Technical SEO is the single greatest way to increase WordPress traffic. Quality WordPress content isn’t determined by a Word Count but dozens of other factors.
Tell me a little about yourself, what you do, and what your company does.
Speaker, writer, and bacon enthusiast, Casey Markee has been doing SEO for 20 years, has conducted over 500+ site audits, and has trained SEO teams on five continents through his consultancy Media Wyse. When he is not doing SEO, Casey spends time with his wife Tifany, two kids, two dogs, two cats and assorted horses.
What is the importance of this conference?
State of Search is one of the top regional digital marketing conferences in the world and it’s always an honor to participate. Fun bit of trivia, I was the one and only speaker at the first State of Search conference over a decade ago. I gave a presentation on the “State of Search” in the upcoming year by phone from San Diego while someone advanced the slide deck there in Dallas.
