State of Search Is Movin’ on up…to the South Side!

Ground breaking Dallas event bigger and better than ever

NYLO Hotel is located right on the same street as the conference venue and you’ll have no trouble finding South Side with a sign like that!

If you’ve been following all of our tweets and updates, you know how much State of Search has grown over the last five years. We hosted last November’s conference in the always-awesome Deep Ellum, but for our fifth anniversary event, we’ve upgraded by moving downtown – to the South Side!

It’s kind of incredible, really. We started out as a one-day conference in a hotel, and now we’re gonna rock and roll for two whole days on the South Side – what’s the South Side, you ask? It’s one of Dallas’ more popular urban areas, just south of Downtown. It’s brimming with life, art, and history. In fact, this particular part of Dallas has been around since the early 1900s, and over the years has exploded into one of the city’s most culturally diverse and vibrant communities. From breathtaking art galleries to lively music halls to restaurants you can only find in the Big D, there’s literally something for everyone on the South Side. Oh, what’s that? You’re travelling in from out of town and don’t want to navigate the chaos that is Dallas traffic? You’re in luck! The South Side has bikes, busses, and the DART Rail to help you get where you need to go.

Speaking of out-of-towners, everyone needs a place to stay during this two-day digital marketing extravaganza, so we made the NYLO Hotel the official hotel for State of Search 2016! First constructed in 1919, NYLO Dallas South Side recently underwent massive renovations to deliver exactly what you’d expect from a Dallas hotel. You’ll be greeted with unique decor, spacious lofts, tall ceilings, giant windows, and an incredible view of the the Dallas skyline. And there’s the amazing rooftop bar, the perfect place to hang out in the evenings and download from your supercharged conference day! Rooms at the NYLO are close to sold out, but don’t worry. You can still find great places close to the conference venue on Airbnb.

But enough about the city and the hotel. We know what you’re here for. If we’re not hosting the conference at Life in Deep Ellum, what place could be big enough for State of Search 2016?

Two Words: Gilley’s Dallas.

Furnished with soft lighting and exposed brick walls, Gilley’s is a massive venue with that certain level of Texas charm State of Searchers have come to love about this conference. And the best part? It’s just a two-minute walk from the NYLO Hotel. How’s that for convenience?

Of course, we can’t talk about State of Search without mentioning our incredible speakers! They’re the real stars of the show, and one of the biggest reasons people travel from all over the world for this conference. Last year we had Rand Fishkin, Duane Forrester, Gary Illyes, and Mig Reyes as our keynotes. This year, we have Danny Sullivan, Maile Ohye, Wil Reynolds, and (surprise!) Duane Forrester – and the keynotes don’t end there! Be sure to catch our Introductory Keynote speakers Purna Virji and Kyle Lacy too. We have dozens of incredibly talented speakers who want nothing more than to help you be the best digital marketer you can be. You’ll find them all on the conference Agenda.

So, let’s do a quick rundown: we covered the city, the hotel, the venue, and the speakers. Did we leave anything out?
