Frédéric Dubut is a Senior Program Manager at Bing, currently in charge of the fight against web spam after spending five years at the helm of the crawl team. During that time, the team consolidated all the legacy Bing crawlers (web, images, etc) into a single platform, scaled up crawl traffic by an order of magnitude and shipped a slate of innovative features, including URL previews (screenshots) and the very first version of mobile indexing at Bing.
In between these two roles at Bing, Frederic oversaw the Xbox Analytics effort, delivering insights and data tools to internal and external game studios developing on the Xbox platform. In that position, he represented Xbox at several gaming industry events, including the last Gaming Analytics Summit in April 2017.

Tell us a bit about yourself, what you do, and what your company does.
I’m Senior Program Manager in charge of anti-spam over at Bing. I probably don’t need to introduce Bing 🙂
What will you be speaking about at the State of Search Conference this year?
How search engines (like Bing) are using Deep Learning to improve their algorithms, and understand and fulfill user intent.
What are the key takeaways you’d like the audience to get when they come to your session?
Over the next few years, search engines will drift away from keywords and focus more and more on intent. Get ready for that shift right now!
